£240,000 for newt conservation

Developments in South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse districts have generated £240,000 over three years to help create new great crested newt habitats. The great crested newts are a European protected species, and so far, 13 developments (five in South and eight in Vale) have been authorised by our councils, which has resulted in 23 high quality ponds and 116 hectares of terrestrial habitat....
