Local History
Milton has a vast history going back many years.
From the 10th to the 13th century the village's name was Middeltune. From the 13th to the 15th century it evolved as Middelton and Midelton, and from the 15th century to the 17th century it was Mylton.
There is a Manor house built in its current form during the 17th Century, The Barrett family have resided in the property since 1764.
The Milton Wonder is thought to be the second oldest evidenced apple tree in the world. It is thought to be more than 200 years old
